In het West-Vlaams wordt het woord Turf gebruikt voor ingedikt. Stichters Wim Wallays en drummer Steven Duyck puberden met Barkmarket, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion en Sonic Youth. Een klein jaar terug kwam Rino Feys het duo versterken met zijn West-Vlaams voor gevorderden.
Turf staat voor ongepolijste en minimalistische overdaad, luid en tegendraads.
